The Arizona sun is brutal on dark paint. This Porsche Cayenne came to us carrying years of damage - heavy oxidation, swirl marks, scratches, fading, and water spots baked right into the clear coat. On a black vehicle, all of that shows up in full force. There was no hiding it.
We started with a full exterior detail to get the surface completely clean, then moved into paint correction. That's the process of carefully machine polishing the paint to remove the defects living in the clear coat. It's not a quick wipe-down - it takes time, the right compounds, and a good eye. But it's the only way to actually fix what's wrong instead of just covering it up.
Once the paint was corrected and the surface was smooth, we applied a ceramic coating to lock everything in. Ceramic coating creates a hard, semi-permanent layer over the paint that bonds at the molecular level. It makes the surface slick, adds serious depth and gloss, and gives the paint real protection against the heat, UV rays, and environmental contaminants that Arizona throws at it daily. That deep mirror finish you see afterward - that's what corrected paint looks like under a ceramic coating.
We also restored the exterior trim while we were at it. Faded trim is one of those things that makes an otherwise clean car look rough, and it's a detail that matters on a vehicle like this. The whole job was done mobile, meaning we came to the customer - no hauling the car anywhere, no scheduling around a shop's hours.
Black paint is unforgiving. Every swirl, every water spot, every scratch is visible in direct light. But when it's done right, there's nothing better looking. This Cayenne is a solid example of what paint correction and ceramic coating can do when a vehicle has been genuinely neglected by the sun.
